The humor mixed with medicine

I generally liked the whole book. It was very very interesting and informative and of course inspiring.

EVERY Doctor should read this!

This hilariously tragic story of the ‘Doctor making’ process is spot on. It brought back both good and bad memories of medical school, internship, residency, fellowship and early years of private practice. At the time, I believed the entire process to be a great surreal ‘hazing’ ritual that we were all afraid to confront. On the chalkboard of the residents teaching area was written ‘Resistance is Futile.’ It stayed there my entire training. Dr. Kay is also SO damned funny (think medical David Sedaris of observational humor.) I loved his writing style and ability to insert humanity where it doesn’t usually live. I LOVED the book and listened to it twice. Highly recommended.

Dry wit for days

I thoroughly enjoyed Adam Kay’s Undoctored.
The book recounts a wide range of moments from deeply personal experiences of loss , suicide and the appalling lack of support for medical staff from their earliest years of training to overwhelming crises such as the Corona virus pandemic.
Adam Kay has a finely honed sense of humor - it’s ever so sarcastic- that this reader can appreciate.
His more serious anecdotes are interspersed with humorous tidbits of his life and those around him.
