Filled with action, intrigue, and suspense, The Fourth Prophecy is a nonstop adventure that proves Glenn Cooper is a master at thrillers.

A beloved professor of theology and archaeology at Harvard, Cal Donovan has achieved renown – but he drops everything when he is called by his friend Pope Celestine to investigate the potential existence of a mysterious prophecy. And it soon becomes clear that another party is desperate and willing to kill for the same information.

In a race against time that will lead him from Lisbon to Rome and to London and Paris, Donovan will become the only person standing in the way of unspeakable destruction. Now his only hope for survival is to outwit, outrun, and outlast his enemies long enough to get to the truth behind the Fourth Prophecy.

The story arc was a bit predictable but I honestly didn't mind because the characters were interesting and sympathetic when necessary, there was some excitement and mystery, and the flow was great! I learned a lot about the Catholic church that I didn't know (and it was interesting enough that I didn't mind learning about the Catholic church). I really enjoyed this book. The narration was, for me, the icing on the fun-but-perhaps-not-stellar cake that took it to another level. The narrator's many accents were so good, he captured the mood and the tone and carried the story so well - it was like listening to velvet and yet nuanced and ... I don't know - it just worked! Truly - the narrator made this a great listen. He took an entertaining if predictable story and made it fascinating. Definitely worth your time to listen.

Narrator made the book - story was good!

I sometimes worry, not only about what I am listening to, but also why Audible recommends me stuff. this is lowest of the lowest. it's even lower than a beach novel. it sounds like a teenager wrote it and the bad narration makes it even more dire. I guess I use this as my jumping board. can only get better from here

I sometimes worry about the cohort Audible has me
