When shy and bookish Gavin Hartford is sent to London, he is prepared to be very bored and very lonely. But after he accidentally forms an acquaintance with dashing man-about-town Charles Kentworthy, his life is turned completely upside down.

Mr. Kentworthy seems determined to educate Gavin on how to enjoy city life. As Gavin opens up to Mr. Kentworthy - discussing poetry and magic, confessing his fears about marriage, and expanding his social circle to shocking proportions - he finds himself far outside his comfort zone. Will he have the courage to face his own growing feelings for his new friend?

This epistolary Regency romance is the first in a historical fantasy series, Meddle & Mend.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and the first I’ve listened to by this fantastic voice actor. The story unfolded in such an interesting way through the letters that the various characters wrote to each other. I loved that in the world this author created it was perfectly normal for men to love men. I plan to listen to more of the books in this series.

I enjoyed this story about the upper crust of high society in1815/1816 London and there is magic realism thrown in for good measure

A different kind of book

A sweet, romantic, and beautiful book where the story is told through letters. I love Charles so much, and the character development that Gavin goes through is brilliant. The historical fiction tinged with magic was a nice touch, and I loved it.

Beautiful and unique
