About Scherrie Prince (in her words)

Growing up on my grandparents' 150+ acre farm was more than just picturesque landscapes; it was an immersive education in the importance of secure planning. After their passing, the absence of a will or trust set off a series of painful conflicts among my family members, ultimately resulting in one of my aunts losing her rightful inheritance due to inadequate financial guidance and crippling debt. This heart-wrenching experience became the catalyst for my lifelong dedication to helping entrepreneurs construct a fortress around their assets. It drove me to pursue an MBA, arming myself with a comprehensive understanding of business principles. But I knew that true protection required more than just business savvy. This determination led me to law school, where I delved deep into the legal frameworks and safeguards available to entrepreneurs. Through my journey, I've come to realize that asset protection isn't just a financial strategy; it's a profoundly personal mission. I've witnessed firsthand the impact it can have on families and businesses alike. That's why, today, I'm on a mission to empower entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate this critical aspect of their success.

  • #190 - Navigating Co-Parenting with Grace: A Conversation with Aurisha Smolarski
    May 1 2024

Theresa Alexander Inman welcomes Aurisha Smolarski, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Co-Parenting Coach, and Mediator. Aurisha discusses the complexities and opportunities of co-parenting post-divorce, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a child-centered approach to ensure children feel secure and loved despite the changes in their family structure. Drawing on her professional experience and personal journey, Aurisha offers insightful strategies for managing emotions, fostering effective communication between co-parents, and creating a supportive environment for children navigating two homes. This episode provides valuable guidance for parents striving to handle separation with the well-being of their children as the priority.

    About Aurisha (in her words)

I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist, an author, and a mom.. I live and work in Los Angeles, CA, and have over 15 years of experience working with couples and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
My background in music informs the way I work. Performing music involves verbal and nonverbal, literal and nonliteral, communication to create connection. This is also how I approach therapy. Bringing creativity, curiosity, and empathy to seek answers beyond what may meet the eye allows me to deepen our work together. I believe that once awareness occurs, change can begin. I work in a collaborative, active, and transparent way, and together we walk the path of discovery.
I believe healing occurs within relationships—in the therapeutic setting and in our own personal relationships. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and co-parents navigate the complex terrain of their relationships with themselves, each other, and their children.
Being a co-parenting coach, a mediator, and a co-parent myself led me to write Cooperative Co-Parenting for Secure Kids: The Attachment Theory Guide to Raising Kids in Two Homes. Having watched co-parents go from confusion to clarity, conflict to cooperation, and loneliness to belonging, I’m honored to provide guidance to co-parents so they can do what they most want: make sure their kids thrive and are not traumatized by separation or divorce.
