You’d think as the princess to the house of death, that I would be looked at with respect. You would be wrong.
A reject—that’s the best way to describe how I’m treated. All because I’m a hybrid. The monarchs of hell revere pure bloodlines and perfection above all else, and in their eyes, I’m a mutt.
Good thing dear old Dad, the Grim Reaper, has never once looked at me as anything other than his favorite child. Well, I’m his only child, but semantics.
Suddenly, he has tasked me with the job of going to the council summit in his place. An event that happens once every century to determine which royal house will be voted into the supreme position. A position people would kill for.
Why he thought the person they all regard as trash is the right person to represent our house is beyond me, but I come to find myself grateful for this chance. Because it allows me to meet them; the princes of each of the other five houses who make me feel like an equal for the first time in my life.
They ignite a fire within me that I’ve never felt before, and it scares me. It’s the type of need that I’ve hoped to never feel due to that side of me...my Succubus side.
Because what they don’t know is that I’m a fatal attraction. A kiss with me is the kiss of death, literally.
While attempting to convince myself and them that this can’t work, we’re thrown into a war between the six houses for control.
Who will survive in this game of deceit and seduction?
Author's Note: This audiobook has an 18+ warning and is intended for mature audiences. It is book one in the Monarchs of Hell series, which will end in a cliff-hanger.

I did some research to figure out which story to start with first and I am glad I did that because I would have gotten it so wrong haha. Definitely read/listen to this trilogy before you listen or read anything from the Dark Imaginarium shared universe. This sets the stage and does a great job of it.
We get to know Ama right off the bat, and I love her and her dad's relationship! They are so funny and amazing, I wanted more airtime with them, not gonna lie. I also would have loved to know his thought process of why he had her go to the super political meet-up with really no heads up or training. I liked Ama's spunky nature and her hilarious quips. I easily feel for this storyline and didnt know where it was going to go but was happy to be along for the ride. Her men did give me a couple issues in the trilogy but I won't give much away. I think for this first book it was trying to remember who was who and try and keep their images/descriptions clear in my mind because I liked to try to imagine things happening as I am listening but this was a little hard with SO MANY haha. I liked some instant love, and was happy to see some of the walls start to come down in book 1 with some of the guys.
I think it was a toss up who was my favorite with the guys in book 1 but there were a couple standouts to me haha. I loved Damien from the very beginning. How nervous and shy he seemed but his hellhound.....like hot damn haha. I would die for a book boyfriend like him not gonna lie. Then you have the wraith prince, Adrian, and that man was almost poetic in nature and was the quiet but deadly one of the bunch. He was wooing his pants off and not even realizing and trying haha. And how much he loves his family is a big turn on. Then Finneas, I loved his instant flirty nature and smirks/attitude with Ama haha. And how he was ready to defend her right away agains Drayven. I loved some of the event and the interactions between Ama and the princes and with their families. Sometimes I was like daaaaaamn that was rough and others I was clapping my hands for Ama sticking up for herself.
Narration was good, I have listened to the female narrator before and thought she did a wonderful job. I could feel all the range of emotions, some made me on the edge of my seat as I was listening not sure what was going to happen next. I felt her growing connection with the guys easily. The male narrator I wasn't familiar with. I have a lot of books that he has narrated but I actually haven't listened yet. I thought he did a good job. One comment I will say is that sometimes it was hard to tell who was talking because of some accents weren't consistent (more so as you got further into the story). I think the clear one that was easy was Colt and that was consistent but Nikko and some of the others shifted a bit it seemed.
Overall really enjoyed this one. I would give it 4-4.5 stars and already like I mentioned finished the trilogy and started the next one in the shared universe haha. The steam and some of the scenes had some bumps for me (flow was off, some things seemed to soon/quick) so I ended up rounding down to a 4, but that doesnt mean it was a great job by this dynamic duo of authors. If you love PNR romances and why choose, what are you waiting for?!?!
Great start to this world
