  • Slam the trolls and kick like a girl
    May 18 2022

Legendary footballer and boxer Tayla Harris joins the conversation for our final ep of this special series.

Harris started playing at the age of just five, becoming "the first girl" in her club to do so, and was signed to the first AFLW season at the age of just 20.

She was depicted in an extraordinary photo showing her athleticism that went viral, and later become an important and iconic statue. The photo sparked a national conversation about trolling, social media bullying, and the expectations placed on women.

Harris is now the subject of an excellent new documentary Kick Like Tayla, coming out on Prime on May 27.

Harris shares her virtuals with host Shivani Gopal, how she has defied the expectations, how she deals with the trolls, and so much more.

This series is made possible thanks to the excellent support of our partner, Stella Insurance.

  • Break your own rules
    May 12 2022

Lisa Wilkinson is one of Australia's best-known journalists and TV presenters: from Editor of Dolly Magazine (at the age of just 21) to co host of The Today Show and now co host of The Project, she's experienced numerous moments that have contributed to the incredible career she's had and is continuing.

Having recently published her autobiography, It Wasn't Meant to Be Like This, we wanted to learn more about the moments that made Lisa, and what we can learn about how she's made the most of such opportunities.

As she tells Shivani Gopal in this latest episode of The Moments That Made Us Podcast, much of it has come down to writing her own playbook and then breaking all of her own rules.

Lisa shares more on growing up in Sydney, experiencing bullying in high school and what it was like walking into those magazine offices shortly after leaving school. She shares the "bad bosses" he became excellent teachers and how she pushed on regardless of judgment. She speaks about going to lunch with Kerry Packer -- and how a friend told her to let him try and impress her.

  • How to recover
    May 5 2022

Being called an "emotional female" was a turning point for Dr Yumiko Kadata that put her on the path to writing a book by the same name.

Also on that path was her resignation from the hospital where she was working, which occurred on her 24th day in a row of working, including 24 hours.

It would be another 18 months before she could properly sleep again. Diagnosed with major depression, insomnia remained a significant issue.

Speaking with Shivani Gopal, Dr Kadata shares more on the moments that made her -- especially on her path to recovering from burnout.

She issues some powerful advice on burnout, and the need for institutions and employers to take more responsibility for the working conditions they put on staff.

This series is made possible thanks to the excellent support of our partner, Stella Insurance.
