Once a witch-hybrid, always a witch-hybrid.

Tensions are increasing in Brighton with the werewolves and witches about to show down over the famous standing stones. And where do I fit into all this? Smack-bang in the middle, pulled between both factions.

Malone wants me to renounce my ties to the Brighton Coven, which should be easy, considering they expelled me when I became a hybrid. However, Drake, my dear brother, is still a witch. Which means I can't abandon him to rule a pack alongside my alpha mate.

Can I bridge the gap between my two worlds and create harmony? Or will my alpha demand that I fall in line and release my past for good?

This is the third book in the Witch’s Pack series, and unfortunately, for me, it was the weakest of the three. I honestly had to force myself to get through the last 40 minutes.

Book one started off unique and promising. I was excited for a compelling love story with twists involving a fated mate and the first, most powerful Wolf Witch. However, the series never truly delivered on that premise.

One major issue was the narration. Della, the main character, was given a voice that sounded like an older woman, which did not match the young, strong, attractive character depicted on the book covers. Malone, the alpha of the Brighten Pack and Della’s fated mate, was given a similar voice and did not sound anything like the powerful, commanding, and sexy alpha he was supposed to be.

Della was described as the most powerful witch, especially after becoming a wolf, yet her actions completely contradicted this. She constantly talked about how she would handle situations, only for everything to go wrong every single time often followed by endless “if only” moments. Despite having abilities like teleportation and healing, she was utterly ineffective whenever her magic was actually needed. The lack of consistency made the story feel unrealistic and frustrating to listen to.

A clear turning point was when Della killed the head witch, Eartha. From that moment on, the story rapidly went downhill. Her brother Drake nearly disappeared from the plot, she became best friends with Rochelle (Malone’s ex-lover), and she allowed Karran a weak and deceitful wolf to become her familiar, even after he killed her original familiar, Bodey the black cat. These choices made little sense and further weakened the storyline.

I’ve listened to many shifter audiobooks, and unfortunately, this is one of the weakest storylines I’ve encountered. I won’t be continuing with any more Rachel Medhurst books this series just isn’t for me. I’ll be moving on to another shifter series that’s more cohesive and believable.

The strongest, yet weakest Wolf Witch ever!
