Masterfully done, unexpectedly healing

I picked up this book solely because I profoundly admire Tasha Suri and it completely exceeded my expectations. As someone who lost their mother very young and is constantly dealing in the uncomfortableness of the in-betweens of racial identity, looking for threads back to her and to India, this book spoke deeply to me. I thought it was a brilliant and healing reimagining of the classic. I feel so very fortunate to have been able to read it and see these characters through a different lense.
