Engaging Action and Co!or ful Charactors

This story was the best of the submarine Bullshark series, in my estimation. Its' action was engaging and continued throughout the book. Characters were lively, individually interesting, and kept the story moving along at its' swift pace. While the ' big picture' of the Guadalcanal campaign was kept historically accurate, the storyline of the book was completely fictional and, in some instances, farfetched. At the same time, I'd rate it an A+ for its' entertainment value.

Great battle action, good narration

Another good Bullshark episode. Great battle descriptions. The narrator was outstanding, with the cringeworthy exceptions of his attempts at a Japanese accent and his impressions of over-the-top hautiness of senior Japanese officers. As for the storyline, it was generally excellent. Only the unending cheerful banter among the crew, during lulls in the action, was exhausting. It was like improv night at the comedy club. But overall, Tokyo Express lives up to the standards of the rest of the Bullshark novels so far.
