Hailing from the punk-rich city of Victoria, BC, Canada, Jason brings a unique perspective shaped by his background in stand-up comedy and broadcast journalism. But that's not all – Jason is not just an author; he's also the mastermind behind "The Punk Show on the Zone," a radio program that pulses with the raw energy of punk music. In this episode, we'll uncover the story behind Jason's journey into the punk rock scene and how his experiences in comedy and journalism converged into this fascinating book project. Our focus, of course, is the legendary Canadian punk band NoMeansNo, formed in 1979 by the enigmatic brothers Rob and John Wright. NoMeansNo is synonymous with an anti-authoritarian ethos, encapsulated in their name, challenging the prevailing norms with a sound that defies categorization. Their sonic palette seamlessly weaves punk, post-punk, jazz, and progressive rock, resulting in a musical experience that is as profound as it is unpredictable. But the highlight of this episode?
