Yet, on their arrival they are confronted with dreadful news: unknown Dark Ones have overrun the tiny country of Hjalgar, whose inhabitants are now in mortal danger. Ahren is now facing his most difficult task, for the Dark Days have returned to Jorath with a vengeance.

Fascinating

Continues to grow the characters in unexpected ways. This only makes the reader more interested in the story.

fave so far

easily the best book of the series. to see how much Ahren has grown since the first book, and even the 3rd book when they returned is quite something. the way these characters, including the ancients and other paladins, are changing and growing with him is setting up the next epic battle to be earth shattering for the plot.

Love the characters and there interactions

Fun and creative story. Highly recommended. I am looking forward to the continuing adventure. I have been waiting for this next adventure into the Eternal Empire!

Amazing as always!

Great development of characters, Ahren specifically is notable (as is his wolf, as you'd expect). Gildart is exceptional as usual. Looking forward to the next book!

Love this author and story 10/10

I could rant about the things I love about this series but I don’t have the patience to type it out. This series is amazing and i really enjoy the characters, story, and attention to detail within the world building. Varying cultures, economic situations, and well thought out magic usage. Would highly recommend 10/10 can’t wait for the next one.
