Age is just a number unless you’re an actress of a certain age trying to make a comeback in La La Land. Back in the day, I was the child star of the hit show Camp Bites. Today, I’m still living it down.

After a disastrous soap opera audition and getting fired from a TV show for not having a bodacious enough backside, one would think I’d be smart enough to go into real estate.

Nope.

Just found out from the rudest, meanest, and hottest guy alive that I’m a Demon. The jerk, also a Demon, goes by the name Abaddon—Abe to his friends.

I call him Dick.

He’s come from the Underworld to protect me—insert laugh track—since there’s a bounty on my head. Dick is not a welcome addition to my midlife madness. However, he won’t go away, and now he’s my new boss.

Fine. Whatever. All I ever wanted to do in my life was pretend. I can pretend to get along with Dick. I can pretend that I’m not wildly attracted to him. Not sure I can pretend I’m human anymore, or that a supernatural assassin isn’t trying to cancel me, but I’m going to fake it until I make it. Or I get killed.

As the Underworld turns upside down, so have the days of my life.

potential is there

I was extremely excited to see a new book out from Robyn Peterman. her other midlife series is my favorite so I was especially happy to see this book is in the same world as that one with a character Abadon that has already been introduced in the other books. like usual this had me laughing out loud. overall I liked it though I felt it was a little rushed in some aspects and underdeveloped in others. it can be a start to another good series of books though.

Jessica Almasy is one of my favorite narrators but even some of her reading sounded a little off with pauses in places that didn't make sense.

overall, I'll be looking forward to reading/hearing more. this ends on somewhat of a cliff hanger or at the height of a conflict so if that bothers you like it does me, maybe wait for a couple books to come out on this series so you can move right on to the next one without the wait!

need more like yesterday!

My only regret is that I started this series when only book one is out. I need MORE!!

I Laughed Out Loud So Many Times!

The story is so good & the narrator is amazing! I loved every minute of it & I have no idea how I will survive until December...... when the next one comes out! I have already recommended this to a friend! Headed to check out more pairings of this author & narrator!

Great Start

Cecily is an aging actress trying to find work when she finds out she's a demon. Cecily is in trouble and Abe is here to save her. Robyn Peterman is one of those authors that what ever she writes is just freakin awesome, this book is no exception. Cecily is a very good character, I like her so much. I'm so glad Robyn came up with a new series, I'm excited to see what happens next. If you haven't read anything by this author than you are definitely missing out. Great Book Robyn, you are awesome.

I loved this book and listened to it in one setting. I can't wait for Book 2!!!
