What happens in Vegas when an all-asexual online friend group attempts to break into a high-stakes gambling club? Shenanigans ensue.

Some people join chess club, some people play football. Jack Shannon runs a secret blackjack ring in his private school’s basement. What else is the son of a Las Vegas casino mogul supposed to do?

Everything starts falling apart when Jack’s mom is arrested for their family’s ties to organized crime. His sister Beth thinks this is the Shannon family’s chance to finally go straight, but Jack knows that something’s not right. His mom was sold out, and he knows by who. Peter Carlevaro: rival casino owner and jilted lover. Gross.

Jack hatches a plan to find out what Carlevaro’s holding over his mom’s head, but he can’t do it alone. He recruits his closest friends—the asexual support group he met through fandom forums. Now all he has to do is infiltrate a high-stakes gambling club and dodge dark family secrets, while hopelessly navigating what it means to be in love while asexual. Easy, right?

I really enjoyed seeing the group of aces and their shenanigans, loved their friendship and crush side details. Quite wholesome. Interesting setting and themes; though some “plot twists” were a bit predictable I really enjoyed going along for a ride along with the group.

A liiittle bit predictable but wholesome, funny and interesting still

It was light, fun, pacey, and was not an undercover love story. No faeries and no insta-lov÷e. Just friends breaking many laws in support of adults who have also broken many laws. loved it.

Fun and wholesome organised crime

You will not be disappointed. Found this book included in my audible subscription and I will be purchasing for my library in multiple mediums! 21/10 would recommend 😁😉

You should go “All In” on this book 😉

It’s not every day you find a YA heist book with lgbtqiap + rep (they’re usually missing the heist bit)! I really enjoyed this adventure with Jack and was reminded a lot of my own teen years when I could only feel like my real self on fandom message boards 💖

My 12 yr old is listening next and is super excited for this story, too!

Oh, and bonus points for an excellent narrator. We stan Robbie Daymond in this house.

Great Debut!

I LOVED this book. I’ve been searching for some aro/ace rep in books for so long and the few times I do find it, I’m often left disappointed. This book was perfect. A bunch of varying identities, with a good plot, actual characters that felt real and interesting, a deep dive into family dynamics, lies, secret keeping, and best of all, a heist. This will definitely be a repeat book for me. 10/10 recommend.

So fun and inclusive!
