Our Will Konken gets the rundown from the events programmer Meredith Patterson... 2) To EV or not to EV? There is a massive debate over Electrical Vehicles these days. It seems there is an even split between people who support them and those who don't. But, who is right? We decided to go right to the middle and chat with the Canadian Automobile Association's Assistant Vice President, Government and Community Relations, Teresa Di Felice for some guidance... 3) Barrie Colts Update Now that the Colts season has finished the focus has shifted to the OHL's priority draft and what the team has in mind for the new additions. Barrie 360's Will Konken chats with Colts writer and broadcaster Gene Pereira to get his thoughts on the picks... 4) Homeruns For The Hungry First, we had Hockey For The Homeless. Now we have Homeruns For The Hungry, an event that brings together the Barrie Foodbank and the Barrie Baycats. What Barrie's Talking About This Week 1) No More Fireworks in Orillia There will be a lot of feedback about this one, but Orillia City Council has decided to ban fireworks. Except for special occasions that are specifically approved by the council, they are pushing for other municipalities to do the same. Barrie 360's Ian MacLennon finds out why, and how the city intends to enforce the new policy from Orillia Councillor Ralph Cipolla... 2) Barrie Colts Update The Colts' season has officially come to an end. They were able to push the series to 6 games even though most thought it would be a clean sweep. Our own Will Konken looks back at the playoffs and season, as well as what's to come with Barri Colts writer and broadcaster Gene Pereira... 3) April POOLS Day approximately 160 people drown in Ontario every year and in most cases those deaths are avoidable. The Town of Bradford is making an effort to slow those numbers this year by hosting an April POOLS Day event this weekend to teach adults and children some critical lifesaving water skills. Andrew Sorokon, who's been interning with us from Algonquin College tracked down Aquatic Leader Cortnee Andrade to get all the details... 4) Green Bowl Foods No additives. No preservatives. Lots of protein and fiber. Green Bowl Foods in Barrie is serving up nutritious meals from upcycled ingredients from food manufacturers.
