They viewed it as a “suggestion” then ignored it. So, business as usual. But Jillian is done with the lies and fakery. She demands the whole messed-up crew clean up its act, and this time she’s not kidding—she has the leverage to make it happen.

Problem is, her life is in shambles, but with the help of a great aunt (crooked but loveable), a bodyguard (who is a nice surprise after three years in prison), and a few allies (all working undercover), Jillian starts to put her life back together. She kicks out a few mooching relatives living under her roof, sets limits on everyone’s access to the money, ducks from their various attacks, and sees if that bodyguard is maybe interested in sticking around for a while. For the first time, she’s Jillian Moorewood, her own woman, and she’s ready to figure out who she is.

Romance, revenge, family drama, OH MY!

This was SUCH a fun family drama with revenge and romance and a memorable female main character who gets released from prison and turns the tables on her family of con artists who think they’ve bested her out of the family “heist” money.

HelenKay was new to me author that I am going to have to do a deep dive into their back list. Perfect for fans of Knives out and fantastic on audio too. If you’re looking for something a little different from the usual romcom fare out there I highly recommend this one!!

Cute story, ok narration

The story was a little slow, but it kept me entertained while driving. Narration for female voices was good, but the male voices were hard to listen to.

Cute book. Not overly deep. Liked the characters. Witty dialogue and a strong female lead

Lack of chemistry

This was another insta-love trope with very little chemistry between the main characters. The narrator's masculine voices were also difficult to listen to., unfortunately.

I listened to this only because I paid good money for it but I wouldn't bother if I were you.
