Publisher's summary

It was just another sunny day at the coast when a life was changed forever...

What started as a prank for a young girl resulted in the elevation of a crab's existence. Now, wrenched from its happy life at the beach, the crab...HAS AWAKENED.

Sir Crabby finds himself thrust into sapience. Into a world filled with creatures both mundane and magical, a world where evil lurks beneath the waves.

Join Sir Crabby as he travels beneath the ocean, discovering power, adventuring forth and searching for his young friend as he's thrust into the Eternal Conflict of Arthos.

Bestseller Ryan Rimmel, author of Noobtown, teams up with Boe Hagen to bring you this hilarious and unique LitRPG Series about the most unlikely of heroes who gains access to a System, and all the wacky adventures that ensue.

A silly but entertaining story

If you like your stories packed with gratuitous anime references and random reef animals I can recommend this story

More Story Less Lore

Too much of the random Lore. After a while it just became grating on the nerves.

Shocked and amazed

I never expected to love this book as much as I do.

In some respects, it’s not unlike a very PG Neven Iliev Boxxy book. It still has that distinctive Rimmel flavor, but with some unfamiliar complementary notes in there that must be Boe Hagen. I look forward to seeing both of your future projects.

(As a Noobs fan, admittedly more the former, but I expect good things from the latter as well.)

Light quirky and smart

Really enjoyed this one. Very different, light heart and quirky full of pop culture references. Great narration.

Brief description. More for me. spoilers

A crab is granted sapience after a freak accident involving a little girl, the gods, corruption, and a broken system. 🦀 is then thrown into a new life where he must battle through a deep water dungeon. Together with some new friends and a little help from the gods along the way 🦀 makes his way through the dungeon and stamps out the corruption. Very excited for more in this series

won't age well

got about 3/4 through and had to quit. about 1/4-1/3 of the story is topical references from the 2000s.
I love the concept of a freshly sapient creature experiencing the world and going through simple trials like it's the most important thing in the world. I liked the gods reactions and how the adventure is basically a popcorn flick to them, cheering the little crab on.
that said, not everything has to be an already out of date reference... the audiobook came out this month and it's already so dated I couldn't listen to it while trucking. I effectively had a captain America moment of "I understood that reference" throughout the entire book
