A Hamilcar Bear-Eater Novel

There are few heroes so mighty as Hamilcar Bear-Eater—but when an ancient skaven warlock with a thirst for godhood seeks Hamilcar's immortal soul, will his martial prowess and uncanny skill be enough to ensure survival?

Listen to it because....

Everyone loves Hamilcar Bear-Eater—though few as much as he loves himself—and after loads of short stories, he's now been unleashed in a full-length novel! Enemies of Sigmar everywhere will be quaking in their boots....

The story:

Throughout the Realmgate Wars, Sigmar’s centuries-long crusade against Chaos in the Mortal Realms, there has never been a hero like Hamilcar Bear-Eater, famed Lord Castellant of the Astral Templars.

Would Gardus have charged headlong into the stronghold of Uxor Untamed with a mere handful of warriors at his back? Would Vandus have had the foresight or magnetism to drink himself euphoric, start a war with the Skarabrak lodge, and then wake come morning to a sore head and fifty thousand moonclan berserkers avowed to Sigmar’s cause? No. Only Hamilcar.

But when an ancient skaven warlock with a thirst for godhood turns his attention towards Hamilcar’s divine soul, the Bear-Eater knows he will have to call upon all his martial prowess and uncanny wits just to survive—because his next death could well be his last.

Written by David Guymer. Narrated by Matthew Hunt. Approximate running time is 10 hours and 52 minutes.

I highly recommend this book. It’s a fantastic story and the narrator does a fantastic job of capturing the charisma and confidence of Hamilcar

A great story, an even better listen

story was great, but the voice actor made the story. bombastic as Hamilcar and excellent as Chaos.

Stormcast eternals have always felt like discount space marines for me. But hamilcar has made both stormcast and the setting as a whole much more palatable for me. I found myself very attached to him and other characters in the book because of how well this book was written, narrated and detailed out so thoroughly. The narrator does such a great job voicing him and the others. I really cant gush much more about the book, it is really stellar.

Hamilcar made stormcast intresting for me.

Hamilcar is a delight

I’ve listened to this audio three times now and it never fails to leave me grinning like an idiot or busting out a guffaw on an airplane. The man shouts his own name as a battle cry, mocks the famous call and response of the hallowed knights, and still manages to come off as the one person in the mortal realms one might actually want to be friends with. The man is a legend .David Guymer absolutely CRUSHES IT in this novel and I can’t wait for more:) Hamilcar deserves his own model in AoS 4.0; the Astral Templars need a named hero and there are none more deserving that Hamilcar, the Eater of Bears!
