Almost Boyfriend Material

Charley Hughes loves Scar. He doesn’t give a damn that they’re bikers; he wants a real relationship with Scar, in every sense of the word. Their romance didn’t have a balanced beginning since they met in prison. Now that they’re both out and established in the world, all Charley wants is for Scar to do three things: Love him, stay out of jail, and listen when Charley speaks. Scar has a lot of trouble with that last request—especially when they’re having a fight.

Unable to Compromise

Colton “Scar” Hebb has no idea how to solve a disagreement in any way that requires words. Prison toughened him up, maybe too much. Scar tries something he’s not ready for with Charley, then clams up afterward, which causes pain for both men.

Life Beyond Prison

Scar won’t talk about what is bothering him, and Charley is frustrated and worried. If Scar can’t learn to move past the man he had to be to stay safe behind bars, he might lose his life with Charley and all the new experiences he wants to share with him. Luckily they’re in the Kings of Men MC, and their biker brothers see the trouble they’re in. With a little good advice from King, chances are things will work out—assuming Scar can get comfortable opening up to Charley.

I loved this book when I read it the first time and listening to it now was another fantastic journey! Like with any narrator, it took me a little time to get used to him, but he did not disappoint. Will give another listen for sure!

Another great book!

This is a short story. Pretty entertaining about a lack of communication. Charley wants Scar. That is his center of attention and when given an opportunity to be a first for Scar, he is more than willing.
Scar isn’t quite so open. He has many issues communicating with Charley. He wants to be with him but there are things Scar is uncomfortable to admit. The dance these two do is entertaining since they are bikers. I enjoyed the mental picture of these two working their problems out. I also feel Andrew Ladd’s narration added to the fact that it was bikers going through this.

Fun story

I loved this book. Andrew Ladd's voice really brings this story to life. Charley really love Scar and will do anything for him. Charley wants Scar to love him, stay out of trouble and jail, and listen when he talks. When Scar tries something new and something he is not ready for with Charley. Scar bolts and refuses to talk about what scared him. Will Scar let fear hold him back or will he open up to Charley and let him know how he feels.

Loved the storyline as it should be for a New Gothenburg book. The narration? Not so much, but then I’m super picky about voices, so it’s probably just me.

Definitely recommend for the story for sure and would recommend the audiobook if you like the narrator’s voice.

I had not read this novella yet and I think that made this audible listen even more fun! The plot is literally Scar pretty much acting like a baby about bottoming for Charley! Experiencing a big biker with no communication skills was hilarious. The story ends up having a ton of cameos with all the King's members and the way they actually act like a dysfunctional family is priceless. I could not get enough of Barber and Scar's bantering! Andrew Ladd the narrator really knows how to bring out these Biker's personalities. He really has the perfect voice for them! I enjoyed how events kept happening and the "Main Event" does not happen until near the end!

Fun Little Ride with the Kings!
