"Lazarre-White masterfully portrays people of multiple races, old and young. He also delivers Cosby's reflections on family, grief, and faith with genuine introspection and without distracting from the tense plotlines...This is a gripping, timely tale—beautifully told." —AudioFile (Earphones Award winner)

The new novel from New York Times bestselling and Los Angeles Times Book Prize-winning author S. A. Cosby, "one of the most muscular, distinctive, grab-you-by-both-ears voices in American crime fiction.” —The Washington Post.

A Black sheriff. A serial killer.
A small town ready to combust.

Titus Crown is the first Black sheriff in the history of Charon County, Virginia. In recent decades, quiet Charon has had only two murders. But after years of working as an FBI agent, Titus knows better than anyone that while his hometown might seem like a land of moonshine, cornbread, and honeysuckle, secrets always fester under the surface.

Then a year to the day after Titus’s election, a school teacher is killed by a former student and the student is fatally shot by Titus’s deputies. As Titus investigates the shootings, he unearths terrible crimes and a serial killer who has been hiding in plain sight, haunting the dirt lanes and woodland clearings of Charon.

With the killer’s possible connections to a local church and the town’s harrowing history weighing on him, Titus projects confidence about closing the case while concealing a painful secret from his own past. At the same time, he also has to contend with a far-right group that wants to hold a parade in celebration of the town’s Confederate history.

Charon is Titus’s home and his heart. But where faith and violence meet, there will be a reckoning.

Powerful and unforgettable, All the Sinners Bleed confirms S. A. Cosby as “one of the most muscular, distinctive, grab-you-by-both-ears voices in American crime fiction” (The Washington Post).

Editorial Review

Southern discomfort
I finished listening to this S.A. Cosby thriller while in Houston, where it was about 92 degrees. Not born yesterday, I wasn’t running out to take in the sights. In the cool of my hotel room, I savored the last couple of hours. He sure can weave a story. His storytelling has so many layers, he makes a Napoleon, that multilayered pastry, look like a thin slice of pound cake. The main character is Titus Crown, the first Black sheriff of Charon County. I can’t imagine a more fitting name for him. You can see it in the way he speaks, walks, and looks. I’ve pointed out Cosby’s spot-on descriptive words before. Here’s another one for you, where Titus observes of Officer Pip: “The bottom three buttons on his shirt were performing a labor of Hercules as they kept his belly from spilling out.” His narrator, Adam Lazarre-White, delivers all voices impeccably. Charon County is lucky to have Titus, the crimes are ugly and brutal, and he is on the case. Big time. —Yvonne D., Audible Editor

This is Cosby’s best yet, detailing personal priorities, internal battles facing off with external battles, honoring the past, and living the present. I really REALLY liked this book.

SA Cosby is my new favorite author

The book is a bit gorey - but the story is great. But the narration is what is most stellar!

Fantastic narrator!

The violence is graphic and gruesome, much of the violence directed upon children. the story is a dark view of the worst excesses of human nature, but nothing that has not happened over and over throughout human history. The main character has a tremendous bond with his father and brother which helped s hold him together through the darkest of times.

Gripping but be prepared for the violence

Absolutely an excellent read… I’ve read all this great authors books and this one is probably his best! Loved it and didn’t want it to end. It’s real and hits straight to the heart and hopefully makes people pause and reflect on the deep sad but brutally true message here. Thank you for sharing a deep message in your books, actually reminds me to remember the golden rule about judging others. Yes, an awesome book that keeps you entertained and at the same time makes you think and wonder about racism today and how it’s so brutal and is tearing all us humans apart with hate🙏❤️🙏
