A mother rushing to rescue her only child.

A worried son desperately trying to get his parents out of harm’s way.

A geologist trying to save them all.

Thirty years after surviving a landslide that killed his entire community, Tim is a geologist with the US Geological Survey. When he realizes that Mt. Rainier is about to erupt, he is determined to warn everyone about the imminent danger, only to have his words fall on deaf ears.

Jordan is one of the few who takes the warning to heart. Worried for the safety of his elderly parents, he urges them to evacuate. However, they seem unconcerned—Mt. Rainier hasn’t erupted in hundreds of years after all, and it’s too far away to be dangerous.

After dropping her son off at school, 911 dispatcher Teresa goes to work, only to start receiving distressing calls about the eruption. Terrified and torn between helping many and running to save her only child, she soon finds that the decision has been made for her.

As deadly as lava, landslides, and constant ash raining down are, they're not the only threats. Opportunists are another...and millions of people driven insane by fear might be the biggest danger of all.

Having lived in the area where the story took place, I was expecting a good volcano story. I was disappointed in this book, because it went off the rails, and became less of a story about the volcano and an eruption aftermath and more of a story about human trafficking. If I wanted a book on human trafficking, I would’ve found one, but I was looking for a story about the eruption of the volcano. After listening to the downloaded sample, it actually gave you a wrong impression of the book.

Oh, I was disappointed

I really wanted to like this book. It takes place in my hometown, and the descriptions of the area are very accurate. However, unfortunately, it reads a little bit like a fever dream. Thin characters, too many plots, half fleshed out storylines, weird connections. Just didn’t at all feel believable.

Fever dream from my home town

I was going to book for the excitement and destruction. I literally fell asleep not once but twice before half way in to the book. I don’t recommend this book.it had promise but was unbelievably unbelievable from minute one. Sorry but i literally deleted it from my library and wasted a credit.

Buy this book if you want to fall asleep

Bad and unrealistic characters, this is not a volcano disaster story. Author has no knowledge of volcanis, survivsl, or people.
