Favorite book in the series

Kiara and Nino’s love is so sweet. This book is sort of a part one of their story which continues in twisted bonds. It’s wonderful to see Kiara overcome her fears with Nino’s help and she helps home overcome his past. A different take as she is strong her own way and l like how the writer doesn’t make it seem like there is a magic wand that takes care of trauma. I’d encourage continuing their story.

Finding Light in the Dark

The audiobook adds to the overall emotions in this book. I can not imagine reading it without listening as well.

This book pulled at my heart strings and was triggering. Both characters dealt with horrific events by members of their families. Kiara's backstory had me in tears, I had to put the book down for a while after reading the chapter of what her uncle did. And cheered when Nino got revenge for her. I reread a couple of the prior books and cringed whenever I read Durant's name.

Now Nino seemingly shrugging off Kiara's trauma, and cheating on her gained a screaming session at my Kindle. But being the emotionless person that he was, he didn't understand why Kiara couldn't move on. Him cheating on her didn't do any favors in terms of healing however. It's pretty obvious how broken the Falcone brothers are. Briefly hinted at throughout Cora's entire Mafia series, hidden danger lurking in the shadows. But getting parts of the how and why in this book shifted my perspective of the Falcone bunch.

I want to declare them my favorite family in the Mafia series, because they aren't as stiff as the Outfit and Famigila. Despite their past and the dangers of their world they still manage to find time to have fun and laugh. Plus make me laugh as well, and the love between the brothers, Fabiano and eventually Kiara reminded me of my own family. I suspected Growl was on the spectrum, same with Nino, so I'm happy Cora explicitly mentioned the possibility in the story as well, since behavioral health representation isn't a norm in romance novels. Kiara and Nino's story basically started the same as Aria and Luca's, but this arranged marriage was needed. Both Kiarra and Nino needed each other to overcome their pasts. When they played the piano together I was sobbing!!!!

Wonderful story about childhood trauma and healing from the most unexpected person. An arranged marriage where two broken people found love. I couldn’t put it down. Great narration and slice!!

My Favorite Mafia Couple Ever

My babies are and will always be one of the favorite couples from any book I've ever read. Nino and Kiara are so special and even after all these years they continue to hold a soft spot in my heart 💕
