About this listen

“I suggest you focus your considerable talents and effort on finding another career path.”

From the moment those words left Agent Grant’s lips, I realized my dream of being a profiler for the FBI was dead. All because I happened to come from a small town in the Midwest.

Seriously, that’s the only reason he would give me.

So I did what any sane woman with a heart full of rage and an Ivy League education would do: pack up what was left of my failed life and move back....

I don’t know what triggered the flags on my file, but you can sure as hell bet I will find out—even if it kills me.

Road to the Hollow

This is the first book in the Misfit Protection Program series. This is my first Cassandra Featherstone book I have read. I loved it. Jolene Whitley has been determined to become an FBI profiler. She was in her interview when the agent told her she should look for a different career path. Something flagged from her past. She is headed back to her hometown to figure out it’s secrets. She never really realized how strange the Hollow was until returning as an adult. There is definitely something paranormal in this town. This book is leading down the road to be a why chose, and I am here for it. However just when things were getting good the book ended! I need the next book right NOW! Maggie Indara is a new narrator to me and she did an absolutely fantastic job narrating this book.

Why Choose Paranormal Romance

Road to the Hollow by Cassandra Featherstone is a why choose paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Maggie Indara. This is the first book in the Misfit Protection Program.

This is the third book of Cassandra's that I have read, and it won't be my last. This prequel is a great set up to the series. I can't wait for the next book in the series Return To The Hollow to be released on audio so I can get more of Jolene's story.

Maggie did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

Hooked me in on First Page

This is a really good story. It starts off really well. The characters are well developed. I like how the main character is trying to figure out why she was denied in joining the FBI. Then as she is heading back to her hometown to get things organized after her parents' accident, she starts to notice that people she went to school with are now where to be found on social media. Which than she starts to wonder if that is why she was denied the FBI because they couldn't find anything out about her family history. This is a good book. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I received this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion.

Good Foundation

This is a great set up to the series, It starts off slow and you feel like you're dropped into the middle of a story but as it goes on I think that works because your in the same place Jolene, not quite sure what is going on. It does leave you at a bit of a cliff hanger but definitely makes you want to see what happens next. Narration was done well.

But as she search for the secret, she run into people from her past. Some of them are good and some are still bullies Her journey isn’t an easier one but definitely worth the ride you going. Cassandra gives us incredible characters and storyline. With that said Maggie Indara does a fantastic jobs bring all the characters to life.

Cute story

A fun story about a young lady going home. She fails a background check and moves home to see if she can figure out what in her past might have flagged her. Instead she finds her hometown full of smoking hot dudes, two cats who have claimed her as their person, and a bunch of old fuddy duddys. Lots of funny moments and a cute story overall.

Good story, great narration

This book is my first from this author, I liked the story. I do wish there had been more answers than questions, and I'm really confused by the ending. I feel like I missed something. The author does a good job of reeling you in to find out out what's really going on in this town.

mysteries

If you like PNR and RH this is for you!
Jolene was told that her application to the FBI was rejected, because of where she was from. She decided to go back to her childhood home and try to unravel the mystery herself.
Jolene is funny and sassy. This story is fast paced, fun and quirky.
Mysteries abound, questions are not answered, this is a prequel. I cant wait to find out what happens next.
Maggie Indara narration is very good and animated. she's talented and captures the characters voices and personalities with perfection.
I enjoyed listening to this story.

Good start to a series

This was a good first book in a series. It was hilarious sometimes to hear Jolene's inner thoughts. The story was mysterious as you don't know why exactly she was denied the job and the mystery behind her hometown and why she doesn't really remember her childhood. Maggie Indara did a great job narrating all the different characters as I was able to tell when it was a new character talking and she was able to put emotion into her voice when it was needed. Road to the Hollow was intriguing enough that I will be looking forward to the next audiobook so I can find out the secrets behind the town.
