Michael’s Eyes is the fictional account of the life of Michael Barone. In the story Michael was born with an ability that no other human has been known to possess. As Michael grows up in the small Texas town of Anson, his life and his adventures are shaped by his secret ability to be able to see in the dark.

The story in part one leads him through adventures of the discovery of lost gold and confrontations with danger. In part two Michael Barone serves in the Vietnam War, initially as a Green Beret, followed by clandestine patrols in Cambodia. In part three, Michael returns to Anson, Texas, and uses his secret ability to see in the dark and the riches that he has accumulated to build his life. The story is a thriller in which most listeners easily become enraptured, as if they were a part of the story.

I was anxious to read ( listen) to another book from a classmate. It was interesting. Are the characters taken from local residents? I wondered who they might be. The facts about the lives of the residents of the county were on spot. There were a lot of lower income people who were struggling to make ends meet. Michael was a very fortunate man. No bad things happen to him, all good. That doesn't happen often.
