Very challenging slow burn!

There is so much in this book about Alex and Justine - flaws, infidelity, trust issues, and finally forgiveness. And if that’s not tough enough, how about living 3000 miles apart? I really enjoyed the superb storytelling by A L Brooks, the flow of her words, the two main characters and the lovely narration by Avery Reid with her American and British accents. This is the best “love at first sight I have ever read!”

Heartfelt and Honest

This story includes infidelity, mostly off-page. This would normally turn me away from a book, but the author never allows the characters to get a pass for infidelity. Instead, she has the them wrestle with the fallout and aftermath, dealing with their own emotions as well as the impact on friendships. The story may feel slow-paced, but it’s time well -spent allowing the characters to do the necessary work to grow from their actions. And to witness this growth was moving to me. It felt real and raw and included humanity’s faults and all. The performance was well done and a good match for the story. Highly recommend!

Worth listening to

First book of A.L.Brooks…definitely going to get more of the authors books! It’s wonderful when a narrator is able to put us in the scenes and help us see the characters as if we’re there, great read!

I didn't think they we're ever going to make it to a place to be together, it was torture loved the book..

What a masterpiece!

I absolutely loved this storyline and MCs plus friends in this listen. I'm so happy that everything turned out awesome for them because it almost didn't happen. I loved the gravitational pull that couldn't be broken even when the two MCs were 3,000 miles apart. They had so much passion and emotional pull towards each other from their initial first meeting all the way through. The writing was amazing and fulfilling along with the narration. I really enjoyed this story.
