Rys awakes to the smell of blood and nearly two thousand years of dust.

Maybe he overslept a little too long. Once, he was a great champion and general in the demonic empire that ruled the world. Now, he’s been erased from history.

He’ll need to remind the world of the price of forgetfulness.

Now is the time to build his own empire, as the ancient powers of his time are long gone. Rys has an archipelago to conquer, women interested in extending their bloodline with him, and a mysterious labyrinth that holds the secret to why he was sealed away to begin with.

But a contract with Hell is eternal. His old employers want to turn him into their pawn, and Rys must become powerful enough to remain free.

That’s not a short to-do list. But half the fun of taking over the world is the challenge.

I'll start off with the fact that I'm a little biased. I've been listening to every LITRPG that seemed even a little interesting to me. I finally finished all the books in all the series that I've started and just took a shot in the dark with this one cause it was first int he recommended for some reason. I skimmed the description and knew nothing about the author. It was definitely a good book, just not sure its for me. The harem stuff was a little much for me.

Not bad, just not for me

I love Robertson. I feel all his books should be given a fair shake. His characters have a lot of life and reasonably deal with time in ways that others pack into to short a time span for things to reasonably occur. Demon's Throne is excellent for those very reasons.

Quality Writing

I have not usually been into spicy romance, let alone harem books because usually the characters fall a bit flat, but that isnt the case with this author at all.

Each new introduction and interaction helps flesh out their individual personalities, goals, history, and plans.

The fun scenes are not fade to black, which is usually a problem for me in fantasy books, but they are so well written here that I actually look forward to them. theres banter, and each characters desires, and reactions, and well done descriptions without it feeling rushed or forced.

the power system for the series is interesting and varried too, so the strategies and combat feels cinematic and exciting.

on top of all of that, the voice acting is 10/10. varied, with accents, emotion, great pacing, and life in each character. Each conversation is so well done, you can forget that its all one tallented person.

if you like fantasy, give this series a shot. you wont regret it!

Great character development & top tier acting

There's a lot of really cool ideas in this story, and there is also a lot of filler.

Too much all at once

I still think Robertson is easily one of the best writers in this genre. The characters he writes and the stories that he tells are all so interesting and Demon's Throne is no different in that regard. This is one of my favorite series from Robertson and I look forward to seeing him finish it.
