Success at last! Ahren and his companions have revived the alliance of the Jorathian peoples. But there is little time for celebration, for while the defensive ring around the Pall Cloud is being strengthened with Dwarfish assistance, Ahren and his friends are already on their way to answer the Wrath Elves' cry for help in the Forest of Ire, from within whose depths mysterious dangers are threatening to destroy the Elven forest and all life forms within it. Time is running out, and not only is the Pall Cloud spreading its noxious vapors over an ever-larger area, but the stricken Forest of Ire must be saved at all costs.

If the forest falls, then the defensive ring will fall too, obliterating any hope of victory against Him, Who Forces.

Not only is this a wonderful series but the narrator’s performance was dramatically exiting and heart warming. I also want to praise the translator who kept the fantasy feel and the characters like good friends who I could always get behind. The dialogue feels real and without the awkwardness or stoic aloofness of other translated works I have read. I hope the Green Sea is available for audio soon.

Every other book so far is easy 5 stars. This one was hard to listen to. First, this story made you feel the struggle and despair the characters felt. So much death and misery it was the same over and over in the forest of ire. Usually there are multiple story lines going back and forth but this is all with only the core characters and there struggles with darkness. The last 5 hrs made it worth the listen. It put me in a weird headspace when listening to first few hours. Took a while to finish this one. Hope next book swings back the other way.
