    Apr 12 2024

This is a bit of a mixed bag of predictability. Take a really bad rip-off of The Walking Dead, make the township's mayor be the doctor, who can banish people by just saying they tested positive for the infection. Throw in a douchey goatee sporting psycho henchman with designs on the pretty girls in the town, a bunch of rednecks, a congregation of cultist loonies, Dee Wallace dying of cancer in a trailer and never leaving her bed for the movie, and Billy Zane in a cowboy hat and neckerchief training beautiful 20 somethings to fight zombies by playing paintball and driving around on quad bikes to poor rock music.

I think the 10% on Rotten Tomatoes is harsh

I think the 2.9/10 on IMDB is closer to the mark

I think Horror Society saying it was an awesomely acted slow burn just goes to show where the meth went that day

It is a 3.5/10 at best that had far to many inconsistencies. So the zombie apocalypse is caused by whatever was on the meteor that killed the dinosaurs and came up from a fracking site? And whilst the idiots under the doctor staying behind a thin fence and send paint balling teens on quads off with Billy Zane for supplies, a whole other community has Apache attack helicopters and dozens of redneck gunmen and women and are positioned right next to a giant hole in the ground.

A hole in the ground? The one the zombies are trying to get to because it is like a.... duh duh duh... elephant's graveyard.

  • Episode 136: Dead and Breakfast
    Apr 11 2024

On paper it should have been good. It had a Hollywood cast of Jeremy Sisto (Clueless), Oz Perkins (Legally Blonde), David Kung Fu Carradine, Harry Dean Morgan... no...Rob Downey Jnr... no... Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Walking Dead) and the trailer was hilarious.

A group of young handsome and beautiful friends including Ever Carradine, Jeremy Sisto, Oz Perkins, Gina Philips and Eric Paladino are heading to mutual friend, Portia De Rossi, get lost and end up staying at David Carridine's bed and breakfast. Carridine's son has died and Carridine uses an old Asian enchanted box to bring his spirit back. The spirit is evil and uses the box to turn all in his wake into zombies, leaving the friends to join forces with Jeffrey Dean Morgan's sheriff and fight off the horde.

This unoriginal Evil Dead 2 rip off is so far from the much touted "American Shaun of the Dead" label it has on the DVD cover that it had to be marked down.

With graphic novel and musical transitions, it is a bitty mess. The trailer was awesome but they put the best bits in the trailer. The other 130 minutes was crap, other than the Night of the Living Dead siege, the dancing, and the improvised shotguns.

We could only give this 4/10 and neither of us would recommend it or watch it again.

  • Episode 135: Project Wolf Hunting
    Apr 8 2024

Do you like Korean cinema? We do.

Do you like K-Horror? We do.

Do you like K-Zombies? We do.

Do you like overly brutal bloody violence including numerous mass stabbings, infanticide, feeding bodies of test subjects to pigs, graphic beheadings, super soldiers with no eyes beating rooms of men and women to death with anything it can get is hands on, and killing someone by forcefully face f~cking them whilst receiving a blowjob? Not so much.

Still, that is Project Wolf Hunting. 5.5/10.

If I can use Michael's salad analogy, it is Universal Soldier, mixed with 2009 The Revenant, with a dash of Deadpool, a heavy side of The Sadness level bloody violence, a sprinkling of Con Air and 2012 Lockout all topped with a very unvegan dressing.
