As a child of the 1970s, Nick loved "Jailhouse Rock". What if Elvis hadn’t died?

It’s 2010, he’s in his 40s, and Nick is throwing everything he has into developing his new app: an adventure game where the player can use time travel to try to change history, and he’s sure it will be a hit. As he loads in important dates in history, something unexpected happens. He’s gone back in time!

August 13, 1977. Memphis, Tennessee. Not far from Graceland, Nick tries to come to grips with the impossible. Maybe he has been working too hard and it’s a dream? Can it be real? It didn’t matter. Nick knew he had just three days to save the king. What’s his first move?

Fascinating and unique!

Nick Cantello is a life-long lover of all things Elvis and he's trying to save him from dying on August 16th, 1977. He knows that time-travel isn't possible and, after all, his technological prowess extends to creating apps, but he's going to log the critical information into his phone and let the app do its magic. When a power surge creates a blue flash of light, the next thing he knows he finds himself in Memphis on August 13th, 1977. Three days to save the King! This is a uniquely inventive story with so many details, real and imagined. I take issue with the reviews that criticize that the facts were off and it's not how it really happened. This story is based on the life and "death" of Elvis Presley...it's not a documentary of Elvis Presley. I enjoyed the characters who were central to his career, and the secondary characters who really fleshed out the story.I have to admit that it was a breath of fresh air for Priscilla to be an essential figure in helping Nick show Elvis what he had to do in order to stay alive. This is a wonderfully-written book and Simon B. Kelly's narration was just about perfect. His dynamic voice with its intonation and emotion brought each character to life with a unique personality and sound.

Going back in time with Elvis)

A quirky time travel adventure for Elvis fans. I enjoyed the author's humor and unique idea for the time travel "machine". What would life be like if Elvis hadn't died young? And who would you save if you had 3 days to Save a Legend?!

(The Elvis diehards may not be able to overlook the liberties that the author takes with rearranging a few facts to fit the storyline but casual fans won't mind and will just enjoy the alternate history for as long as it lasts.)

Thoroughly enjoyable.

Paul Farmer’s “3 Days to save a Legend” is a story of passion about music, life and Elvis. Paul’s fertile imagination and ability to intrigue keeps the reader, and in my case listener too, captivated right to the very end. Full of twists and turns and prolific in interesting historical information, this book is a gem! Well done Paul and well read Simon.
