Academy RH Bully Romance

Vicious Lies by Rachel Leigh is an academy bully romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Stefanie Kay and Theo Sinclair. This is the second book in the Bastards of Boulder Cove series.

I absolutely love Rachel's books! I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I am loving the push and pull between Scarlett, Crew, and Neo. I can't wait to see how their relationship grows throughout the series. I really enjoyed getting Scarlett, Jagger, and Crew's point of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The book ended on a great cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait for the next book in the series Twisted Secrets to be released on audio.

I originally read the book and was so excited when I saw it was coming to audio and I was not disappointed. Stefanie and Theo did an amazing job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this series if you like dark romances, academy romances, bully romances, or romantic suspense.

This is the second book in the Bastards of Boulder Cove series. This series just keeps getting better and better. I need more from Scarlett and the guys. I can't wait for book three. Stefanie Kay and Theo Sinclair did a fantastic job narrating this book.

Wow, this book didnt hold back at all after book 1's slower start. I think book 2 was a huge improvement and I was here for it, and I am dying for book 3 on audio. I am gonna try and have some self control and wait, but book 2 just came out on audio so it's gonna kill me 🤣. Without giving anything away, the plot in this one felt more fluid, well-paced, and we got more pieces to the puzzle but also more twists and questions so it leaves the readers still intrigued and wanting more. I felt more for Scarlett in this one than I did in book 1, I think because we got more background and reveals into how things came to be with Maddie, the way she connected with the guys when they were younger, etc. I will say some twists I didn't see coming (Guardians and Guardians-in-training haha) and the ending I wasn't shocked at all but the way it was revealed was fun.

The guys in this one caused me so much heartburn and also so many smiles/giggles. I fell for Jagger so hard in this one. I think because of how he connected with Scar when they were younger, how he wanted to fight for her but didnt want to hurt Crew, how he was willing to share and put Scar's feelings before his. So many swoonworthy moments ❤️ Now Crew needs to do more soul-searching and like get his head in the game. Most of the book I kept rolling my eyes at him and wanting to hit him upside his head, but it looked promising with the steamy scene towards the end of the book. I also liked how he and Jagger were defending Scar against Neo and trying to knock some sense into him haha. Neo....like this book did a fabulous job making me feel for him. I did not like him before, but if you look at the events from his eyes, I can see why he is making Scarlett his scapegoat and bane of his existence. I am really curious how he is going to redeem himself, get on Scar's good side since this is an RH and not a menage haha. Also, I am hoping Maddie will be ok and can explain what went down, but I honestly was confused by Scarlett was doing all the visiting and treating Maddie like nothing happened, after she said those hurtful things at the top of the mountain. I cannot wait for the resolution, its gonna rip my heart out but hopefully also put it back together haha. Overall great story, cannot wait for book 3, my self control will be tested to read it via ebook instead of waiting for the audiobook to become available 🤣.

Narration was done well in book 2, like it was in book 1. I think the emotional scenes were done really well. I could feel the anger and hurt from Neo, devastation from Scar regarding Maddie, the tension and frustration between the guys. I rounded this 4.5/5 stars to a 5 star rating because I was sucked into this story so much by these performances. I will say duet narration would have been epic but they still did a great job with things. I am going to be checking out these narrators more in the future based on their renditions, inflections, intonations in this book.
