Winnie loves her little brother more than anything. She knows most big sisters loathe being around their younger brothers, but she and Lucas have always been close. But after they are both in a serious accident, everyone starts acting strangely towards her. She struggles to understand even as she deals with crushes and horrible girls from school.

But a chance encounter with a neighbor shows her that her friends and family aren’t the only ones that changed after the accident. She did too. Her head trauma has unlocked secret powers that had been dormant until now. How can she balance being a normal teenage girl while learning to control her newfound powers? And can she keep them from turning her into someone she doesn’t want to be?

This is a good book to listen to. It is sad and has you at the beginning wondering what happened to the main character and why no one is talking about her brother. As the story goes it keeps you interested and not wanting to stop.
I received this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion.

I did like the premise of the storyline, but the author took too long to get there. When they finally got to the main storyline the book stopped. I haven’t read the other books, the only way I would purchase this book is if it was sold as a box set.

Too short and slow to the point

Mysterious and intriguing right till the end. I am happy to not be her, seeing ghosts yes right up my alley but two faced friends, power plays from two new magical instructors with unknown real agendas and feelings of family betrayal combined with newly awakened magical abilities makes for a volatile possible future. Good reading though! Recommended clean entertaining story.

Winnie and Lucas have an amazing bond as siblings. But after the tragic accident things at home just aren’t the same. I love how the author took you on the same path as Winnie. However I figured out the block before she did. I loved the little clues along the way. What a special gift she has as well! I look forward to more from the series to learn about her abilities and the secret organization.
Nice narration totally enjoyable. New author to me and narrator.

Bit the story is a little slow moving and I don’t feel like anything is resolved at the end because I feel like it ends in the middle of the story. I don’t know if it’s meant to be as series but I didn’t find any other related books so the ending is very abrupt and left us I feel right when we were getting to the good part. The narration was done well.

It’s a good premise
