She was taken against her will.

On her fifteenth birthday, trafficking victim Affi Smith goes for a run and never returns. With a new identity and secure home in the Scottish Highlands, she was supposed to be safe…

She escaped once.

With personal ties to Affi’s case, DS Max Craigie joins the investigation. When he discovers other trafficking victims have disappeared in exactly the same circumstances, he knows one thing for certain – there’s a leak somewhere within law enforcement.

She won’t outrun them again.

The clock is ticking… Max must catch Affi’s kidnappers and expose the mole before anyone else goes missing. Even if it means turning suspicions onto his own team…

I’ve devoured this series. It’s just better with each one. Love the characters love that there’s a smattering of humor amongst these severe and dark themes. Angus King totally makes the characters come to life- he’s amazing!

Wow, what a ride this was, I even had to get up in the night to continue the story. as I thought Neil can't do that... It deals with people trafficking, brothels one very unpleasant Albanian mafia boss, corruption you name it it's in there.. Great storyline taking you in different directions but all coming together. Its a real James Bond thriller great characters and the narration was suburb Angus just know his craft. So looking forward to Neil's next book in 2024 and DS Craigie's next case.

Riviting

Excellent! Simply brilliant. Kept my interest from the beginning to the last sentence. Great characters, both returning and new. And, of course, the narration by Angus King was the best!

So good!
