Much needed memoir for middle grade youth

Chasten’s story gave me an opportunity to think about my own childhood and I am 80 years old! During my high school years I, too, knew I was different and thank god I had my trumpet to keep me focused. Chasten has an eloquent way of writing. I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated listening to this audiobook. It is an important positive contribution to society during this time of vicious hostility to our LGBTQ+ Community. Chasten's story is so fast moving that I couldn't believe it was over! He's so upbeat about life and how to succeed, love, share. I've now listened to THIS version and his original book, and I highly recommend both!
