A little music, a little dancing, a little murder at the spring ball.

England, 1925. After years shut away from the world, former detective Lord Edgington of Cranley Hall plans a grand ball to celebrate his seventy-fifth birthday.

But when someone starts bumping off members of his scheming family, the old man enlists his teenage grandson to help find the killer, before one of them is next.

The mismatched duo must pick the culprit from a gaggle of preening playboys, scatter-brained spinsters and irate inspectors in this Agatha-Christie-style whodunnit that will have you racing to spot the killer.

With a cast of eccentric suspects (both upstairs and down) and an adorable golden retriever along for the ride, Murder at the Spring Ball is a warm-hearted murder mystery full of intrigue, humour and adventure.

The Lord Edgington Investigates... audiobooks are narrated by George Blagden from the TV shows, Vikings, Versailles, and the Oscar-winning film of Les Miserables.

The story was a lot of fun but I must admit that the narrator really brought it to life for me. Some of the characters were hilarious! I rarely find myself laughing out loud but I did on this book. Super fun!

Fun story, great performance.

I truly enjoyed this cozy book. There was moments when I laughed out loud. I'm going to order the next 2 books. I see there are 5 books in the series, but Audible only has 3. I hope Audible acquire the other 2 books soon.

The story was well written and kept my interest the entire time. The narrator was excellent he certainly mangled the songs perfectly. it was a fun read and good characters with enough detail for good character development. I look forward to his next book.

I am giving this book five stars, not because the writing is brilliant, but it is a five star cozy. Normally, I do not care for precious children/teens/animals. The young man as narrator however works in this formula. I liked the characters and the story. Looking forward to more of this series on audible.

What more needs be said? Benedict Brown has succeeded writing a good Agatha Christie style mystery, set in 1920s England, with all of the required twists and turns. George Blagden, as narrator, did an excellent job in turn. They presented a nice cozy read.
