4th book in series. I suspect it's hard to continue to develop a story line without it becoming fragmented, burdened by too much background or, to compensate, moving so fast that the story ends up with glaring holes that detract.

This magnificent book fills in additional, needed background while still solidly further developing the central character and keeping the reader (me) very invested in the direction of the story itself.

A great read and an excellent, nuanced narration.

You don't write a cliffhanger ending like that unless you have the next book ready to go! Where is it? Have been a serious fan of both T A White and this series but may have to rethink that if the wait is too long. Hurry up already!
