THE STORY

Nyssa Volari is dying. But that is impossible, because she is a Soulblight vampire, blessed by Nagash with blood-fuelled immortality. More than that, Nyssa is a fighter – one of the handful of Kastelai vampires not dissolved into true death when the Crimson Keep abandoned them a century ago. With her blades and her will, she carved a kingdom out of the Broken Plains of Aqshy.

These things matter little, for Nyssa's blood is cursed. It destroyed the vampire she called father, and as it threatens to do the same to her, Nyssa's allies abandon her one by one. Worse still, an army of zealots led by a brutal priest of Sigmar comes to destroy the vampire lord and claim her birthright.

Nyssa Volari is dying. But that is impossible, because she has spent every moment of her second life refusing to lose.

Love me some vampire drama

Start was a little slow but had all of the gritty vampire drama I wanted along with solid world building for Aos. Would recommend!

fantastic spulblight story

so far my favorite soulblight related novel, I highly recommend this to anyone interested in Soulblight lore

Gripping and exciting

I loved the two narrators and their performances here. The characters were very interesting and really easy to get behind. I sincerely hope this is just the start of more adventures with this cast,

Best warhammer novel yet

This book is so good it makes me want to lower my rating of every other warhammer review I’ve written because they don’t belong with this one. I won’t do that, but this is an excellent novel.

It has a few aspects of “what will happen if two teenage generals go to war” but I didn’t mind much.

If you like Age or Sigmar you’ll probably like this book too.

Amazing story

Wow was this story amazing. I’m a huge fan of the Kastelai on the table top and this story was exactly how I envisioned the faction being. Amazing. 10/10. I hope Nissa Volari gets her own model.
