I loved everything about this book. The plot, the tension, the angst, the love, the passion. Val is such a strong, smart, woman. She's the "I don't need a man" kind of woman, especially because of her upbringing. Then, the tension between her and Luca becomes apparent and there's no looking back. Luca learns how to love her and care for her and I was eating it up. He's so sweet. Everything he does, he does it with her in mind.

I cried, I laughed, I had a book hangover. The 10 years later epilogue made me so happy! Luca is definitely book boyfriend material 😉

The Windsor family has another arranged marriage lined up. But Luca is finding himself wanting someone else, Valentina, his assistant. Valentina will do anything to help her family. And when they need better health care than they were receiving, a marriage of convenience to her boss would help.

So far with this series, Catharina Maura writes these wonderful FMCs that just have been dealt bad situations time and time again. Your heart just breaks for them from the start. But she makes it up to us by giving us men that recognize their woman’s value and worth pretty much immediately (once in the story) so their devotion is there.

While this marriage may be fake, the feelings are not! And Luca is very honest about how badly he wants Valentina once he makes that realization. I love when both characters realize their feelings before the third act. But then I get really nervous to see how the author is going to break my heart. And this was no different.

Give me all the “my wife” moments and I’m in love. Have Joe Arden narrate them, and I’m obsessed. Stephanie Nemeth-Parker is a new narrator to me, and I loved her for Valentina. So much emotion was portrayed.

Such a great book this is my second time reading this book and i still love it. Catharina did a amazing job like always. Valentina is such a amazing women that works her ass off to prove she deserves it. Beside how her and Luca argue i think the part i liked the most was when she told off Ben even though he was trying to make her feel like she didn't deserve her spot. Second best scene is how Ben finds out about Luca and Valentina 🤣🤣🤣 . Luca is so amazing how he loves her and how he stuck by her when she was hurting the most after her grandma. I felt so bad for her i could literally feel her pain. When Luca asked abula for the video 🥰🥹🥹🥹 . such a great book I'm not sure who i love more from the Windsors brothers the girls are just as loveable.

I freakin love Catharina’s books so much. And this one was no different. So many emotions when I listen or reading at the same time too and she always picks amazing narrators. I Love Luca & Valentina together! The tension & chemistry was 🔥. If you haven’t read this series do it! I’m excited to read book 3. Definitely recommend.
