  • 027: GEORGE RYALS | Archery form for Bowhunting
    Apr 30 2024
Today’s yarn is with world renowned archery coach George Ryals. George or GRIV as some know him has been competing on the pro archery circuit for over 25 years, has worked in product development with some of the top archery manufacturers in the world and more recently runs an archery school of his own, passing on the teachings to the next generation.

George shares plenty of tips on form issues including, stance, grip, anchoring, peep and sight alignment and how it relates to Bowhunting.

It was an honour to sit down and pick the brain of one of the most experienced archery coaches in the world.

    This is his story.

  • 026: 2024 Red Deer Camp | Schilf, Summers, East Coast Bowhunting, Oshea
    Apr 15 2024

Today’s yarn comes to you live from our 2024 Red Deer Camp with Kev Schilf, Ian Summers, East Coast Bowhunting and Dylan Oshea. We chat all about the 2024 Rut conditions, share expert red deer knowledge from Kev and Ian and tip plenty of beers down the hatch in the process.

It was a true honour to have the opportunity to learn in the field each day from people as experienced as these boys and the openness and respect they treated us with was second to none.

We even found time to head out of camp, hit the pub, tip a few jars in and record this drunken late night yarn.

Topics discussed include weather conditions and the effect it has on animal behaviour, terrain, calling in animals, when and when not to call, moving through the bush and plenty more.

Kev’s depth of knowledge on red deer is second to none.

    This is his story.

  • 025: Caring for & Cooking Wild Game | John Rally
    Apr 1 2024

Today’s yarn is with award winning chef and hunter John Rally. John has spent many years honing his trade as a chef, working in top restaurants around the world and has recently purchased a property on the banks of the Hawkesbury river NSW where he has set up his latest culinary creation, The Bush River Kitchen.

The Bush River Kitchen is all about cooking freshly harvested wild game and local produce over flame.

John is an avid hunter who loves spending his days out in the field hunting for his protein and foraging the ocean floor for fresh seafood.

John shares plenty of tips on caring for wild game from the minute it is harvested, aging advice and cooking tips to ensure we maximise the wild protein we harvest.

It was a pleasure sitting down with John, listening to his experiences in the food industry as well as share a few laughs with him about some funny stories and mistakes made out there on the hunt.

    This is his story.
