Not Horrible

I liked the narration, the writing was okay, and I enjoyed that it was a clean story, I also liked the old Sandra Bullock movie, "while you were sleeping" which was NOT like this story. What made the novel less than averarge for me, was I found the main characters, much of their thoughts and behaviors, too stupid to believe.

Discovered a new author!

Stumbled across this author after listening to a compilation piece featuring one of her shorter stories. I searched for other pieces from her and found this new release. Enjoyed it immensely. Narrator was easy to listen to and it is a sweet story line.

Fun and engaging!

Such a fun book! This was my first by this author and I really enjoyed it. The story is engaging and difficult to put down, a regency retelling of While You Were Sleeping. The characters have such personality (I can’t wait for Nick’s story!) and the dialogue and banter is great.

I admit, there is a bit of insta-love between Lucy and the entire family, but especially Simon... And there was excessive angst and relationship tension with Lucy going back and forth about revealing the truth (which went so far as to border on ridiculous). It doesn’t matter, though. I enjoyed reading it so much there’s no way I could give it anything less than 5-stars… and I’ve already downloaded the next book in the series 🤓

Another note in its favor, Noah Wall does the audiobook narration and does a fantastic job, as usual. She has to be my favorite regency narrator, just perfect.

Content:
There is no foul language, sex, or violence. The FMC is stalked by an unwanted suitor and forcibly carried off so he can marry her, but he isn’t physically abusive (just creepy and delusional). The romance is limited to lightly descriptive kisses. There is no mention of faith or God.

This is such a fun riveting story they kept me engaged from the very beginning! Noah is one of my favorite narrators and she brought this story to life!

This story definitely had While You Were Sleeping vibes and I loved the regency spin on a modern movie!!
I loved the characters, the plot, the pace, it was done very well!!

Awesome retelling of While You Were Sleeping

I loved everything about this book. I love the 90s movie While You Were Sleeping and this is an awesome retelling of that story. The author took many creative liberties and changed enough of the story that I never knew what might happen. 10 out of 10 would read again.
