He is deadly and acts without remorse. He inflicts pain and death in service to his master. Now he's killed someone close to Dan and those he loves. It's become more than a mission for Dan; it's personal now. The assassin may want to lure Dan into his trap to kill him, but Dan has other ideas. One assassin must track another to his lair in a desperate attempt to eliminate him before anyone else dies.

Dan's quest takes him through Europe into the dark and remote parts of the Middle East, far from any support from his handlers. In the harsh deserts and mountains, far from any help, Dan must confront his enemy. With no quarter asked or given, it's a kill-or-be-killed struggle.

This book is the 6th installment in the Dan Stone / Assassin Series, and it is by far the darkest and deepest of the series. Scorpion gains speed quickly and doesn’t let up till the very end! This book also ties up many unresolved questions in the series, while leaving the door open for more. Scorpion revisits characters and themes (sometimes only in memory) from previous books, making the world of its hero far more three dimensional and real. Scorpion stands on its own, providing enough context to the series that a new listener could start from here without feeling lost.

Narrator Jonathan Beville makes every character lifelike and unique, delivering this book with intensity and feeling. Listening to this book is the next best thing to being there.

Nees At His Darkest and Best, a GREAT Audiobook.
