Typical depressive Icelandic alcohol infused story

Exhausting and twisted up by obnoxious and annoying characters who seem to be too pathetic to have accomplished anything like the fame the author has attributed them

Excellent slow burn

I love the whole Forbidden Iceland series. The detectives have a minor supporting role in this story, which gradually unfolds like a Greek tragedy from the perspectives of various main characters. All of the narrators are troubled and conflicted in various ways, but do not suspect how they are interconnected until the very end. Fascinating read, if you prefer psychodrama to gruesome brutality as there is very little actual violence in the story. I think it’s brilliant! The narration is also excellent

Love this book. I would love to read a spinoff series about the Snaebergs. I just love this author’s style. More please!!
