  • Summary

  • The 'Punks In Pubs' podcast is a product of Liam Bird, the ex BBC Radio 1 Punk Rock Show producer.

This podcast is like no other, stepping away from the standard studio interview. Liam takes the chat to the local pub and invites his guest to have a natter over a pint! The show features in-depth and candid conversations with a wide range of guests from the punk rock community from musicians, actors, comedians, politicians and other creatives. The podcast also aims to promote and push unsigned punk artists by providing free sponsorship on the podcast and across its socials. If you would like to know more, email punksinpubs@gmail.com.

It's a special episode of Punks in Pubs!

On the back of the last episode with Matthew Medney, a comic book writer and the former CEO of the Heavy Metal franchise, Liam revisits his 2015 BBC radio documentary, "White Men In Capes." Originally pitched with a more provocative title!

The documentary explores the diversity, or lack thereof, within the comic book industry. Narrated by the renowned DJ Semtex, known for his work with Radio 1 and Radio 1 Xtra and his passion for comics, the documentary uniquely attempts to emulate the feel of a comic book through its storytelling.

Enjoy this unique blend of comic book culture and radio documentary as Punks in Pubs brings "White Men In Capes" to a new audience.
