However, when Anne Smith's mother, Laura, realizes that something is horribly wrong with her, she begins to raise questions that need answering.

What would you do to save the one you love? This book follows the story of Laura Smith and her young daughter, Anne, who live close to a lake in the town of Haven. When Anne starts to experience strange things, such as seeing something under her bed and the appearance of a weird slimy substance on the floor, Laura begins to wonder what is truly happening. She soon learns that people have been vanishing from Haven for years.

Laura is determined to get to the cause of Anne's behavior at any cost. Leaving Haven doesn't seem to work and in fact makes Anne's symptoms worse. Laura begins to see things herself and when she encounters the creature causing all the problems, she fears that she will have to be the one to save Anne (and hopefully others).

The story moves at a fast pace, with plenty of creepy happenings, a few helpful citizens and at least one villain who seems to be perpetuating the horrors. I would have liked to know more of the history of this entity and how the whole thing started, but all in all, it was a quick, spooky read with a few heartbreaking moments along the way. The narrator did a great job and added a lot to the experience.

Would you sacrifice anything for the one you love? Single mother Laura will do anything to save the most precious thing to her Annie, her daughter. Time is not on her side when something or someone sets their sights on the children of Haven. The town of Haven and the lake within hold a deadly secret, but Laura is determined to find out what it is and put an end to it once and for all. I found this storyline to be unique, engrossing, and full of suspense. The story is very well written. I was hooked from chapter one. The characters are quirky, well developed, and believable. I highly recommend this book if you love horror and suspense. I received this book for free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review here of my own free upon.
