Törtel, eine griechische Landschildkröte, wird im Baumarkt McGrün geboren und entpuppt sich schon bald als Ladenhüter – Kunden bevorzugen Fell. Doch eines Tages wird er doch gekauft, vernachlässigt und ausgesetzt. Kurzerhand findet er sich in Müggeldorf, einem Vorort von Berlin, wieder.
