Fetching a cat out of a tree should’ve been a quick, easy fifty bucks in Kanika’s pocket. Instead, following one stray thought, the devil pays her a visit and leaves her with a debt to repay.
Owing the devil a favor is bad enough, but her life is turned upside down when it’s time to pay the piper. First, she doesn’t want the world’s sexiest firefighting, kitten-rescuing Scot as an unwilling companion. Since that wasn’t bad enough, she doesn’t know who wants him dead or why, but there’s no way in hell she’s going to let someone mar his perfection.
Add in the fact the devil wants an heir, and there’s only one thing she knows for certain: she’s in for one hell of a job.

About a woman who owns a business called whatever for hire. She seems to do nearly everything. She started this business after escaping her family from an arranged marriage. She is also a shifter of Egyptian type. One day she takes a job from the devil, and it leads to another job. Which happens to involve kidnapping a guy. The man who is kidnapped does not seem to be overly concerned. That works for the break from his day-to-day life. The kidnapping job leads to attempted murder from a bad guy. A whole lot of other crazy stuff starts to happen. Both main characters have range marriages of a sort. They both do not want them. Relationship grows from them chasing answers.
Review bit
This was really good. I loved the whole storyline. The characters were fun to listen to. There personalities were funny, strong, and mysterious. Story itself had a lot going on and surprising. Side characters added a lot to it. The devil was funny, top angels were also an interesting take and the relationship between good and evil was a good play on things. Romance was not a big thing in this one. More takes a front seat last quarter of the book. They did make a good pair and I wished it had more of a relationship during the book. The main female character started out as a strong female then kind of turned into damsel in distress. Which would not be noticeable but they built her up to look stronger. Then she got knocked down a few times and depend on another. Still a good character though.
Narrator review Bit
5/5, gold star, A++ rating
Narration of this book was top-notch. She read the main characters to perfection. Accents of all characters were perfect and you could actually hear the southern in the words. Male and female characters tone was changed accordingly. You would never confuse a character for another. Not one complaint. First time hearing her narration, so look forward to hearing her in the upcoming book.
Would I recommend this book?
Yes, highly. Fantastic storyline, strong character development, funny, adventures, narrator that’s brings the characters alive with phenomenal reading. Again romance is not forefront in the story but it’s there. Lingering in the background. Strongest near the end.
Another great book
