Captivating, relevant and speaks truth

Wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book and was hoping it wasn't "condemning". I was more than
satisfied- I was hooked. It referenced many actual events so I was placed in the storyline and could feel and see the characters play out in my mind so clearly. it was very captivating and suspenseful with twists and turns - I couldn't put it down. This is one of those audiobooks I will listen to again. Very excited to check out his other books. Talented narrator too!

Modern Times Well Captured

A well formed story of current thinking by many in the world and reflective of it.

a good thriller

good stuff, funny, accurate, interesting. I don't usually listen to anything written in the last 30 years or so but this was a good listen for a few days of driving.

It was fine

I enjoyed the premise of the book, but it didn’t really land as thriller for me. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had been focused solely on the Philosophical Killer. The author gets a bit too heavy handed with what happens at the university to the point of it being silly. Probably could have been a bit more nuanced. He uses profanity, so definitely didn’t need to be so blatant on messaging.

The narrator was pretty good and had a wider variety of voices than some others. There were a couple of times where a character’s sounded like Cartman when she got agitated.

Not for me. Was hard to finish.

I thought it was a murder mystery. That part of the storyline was ok, but the side storyline at the college was just too much. I did not enjoy it.
