  • EP028: Steve Rogers - wingshooting on Orkney Island, Scotland
    May 21 2024

Steve Rogers is the owner of Orkney Shooting Holidays - North East of the Scottish mainland. Although he's been chasing birds with a shotgun since he was a young nipper... it wasn't until an extremely close-call changed his life, shifting his priorities back to the feathered creatures he always loved to chase. It's here on the beautiful island of Orkney Island that Steve spends as many days as he can getting his clients under the geese.

Thanks again Steve for being so open with his stories, and for all the tips and tricks around everything wingshooting!

  • Ep027: Cole Wilks vs 900lb Eland - Naked & Afraid (and other wilderness stories)
    May 14 2024

Cole Wilks has been putting wild meat on the table (and in the freezer) since he was a kid. Spending months of each year hunting with a bow, it's unsurprising that he's an absolute pro at wilderness survival.

Cole has featured as a coach on Hunt Warz, made the final 22 in Season 7 of Alone, and emerged triumphant from a 21-day challenge in the latest season of Discovery channel's Naked and Afraid. On top of that he runs workshops, online classes, hosts a new podcast and has a successful channel on YouTube. Suffice to say if there's a wilderness flavored pie, Cole's got his finger in it.

Thanks again Cole for the great chat today!

  • EP:026 Larry Knowles on sea veggies, spear-fishing & the life aquatic
    May 7 2024

For decades Larry has been fishing and foraging for the tastiest ocean snacks Northern California has to offer. Not only feeding himself and the people he cares about, but also selling healthy products through his environmentally conscious seaweed snack company — Rising Tide Sea Vegetables.

Larry has a deep understanding of coastal habitats in Northern California. Through his stories we hear the events that shaped his perspective on our place in the eco system, the problems with mass scale food production, and the common misconceptions of human impact. We also learn some tips and tricks on the best way to approach harvesting sea veggies and fish for ourselves.

Thanks again to Larry for sharing his time with us today!
