For many of us, our defining beliefs aren’t just a philosophy or guide to how we live, but a massive part of our identity. We can be shamed for rejecting our roots when we steer away from what we were raised with and that can have painful results. Converting can result in being disowned and experiencing fractured family relationships.

We all want to put our best foot forward and have the image of being put together and being in our element in our professional and personal lives, but we can often fall into the trap of comparison. We can default to putting on the strong woman persona, because somewhere along the way we have made vulnerability and needing help to be synonymous with weakness. The experiences and relationships we observe and encounter from childhood and adolescence have the ability to impact how we view future relationships.
