He didn't believe in love . . . until her.

Have you ever met someone you hate as soon as they open their mouth? Freshman AVA MASON can relate, and no one makes her feel that way more than COLTON THOMPSON, the handsome center for the hockey team at Great Lake University.

With his sights set on a professional hockey career, Colton keeps his issues, and the truth about his family drama, under wraps. But when he and Ava collide, a fierce attraction blossoms between them despite their mutual hatred.

Their first meeting ends with a threat and makes Ava want to avoid Colton at any cost. Unfortunately, destiny continues to step in, and their paths keep crossing, leading to more tension and unexpected feelings.

As Colton uses harsh words and offensive behaviors to push Ava away, she discovers he has a softer side beneath the tough exterior. And while they both confront their demons, will they realize they have more in common than they think or will they end up hating each other more?

Contains mature themes.

Sin-Bin is my first Anastasia White romance read. I went in blind not knowing anything about the premise or plot other than it was a college hockey romance and knowing who the narrators were. I have read and enjoyed college age romance and hockey romance and college age hockey romance.

However, I confess that I struggled through much of this story, not because of the narration, but because it was overly lengthy, overwhelming in the number of tropes employed, underwhelming in character development, and frankly, as a middle-aged reader, I think college age romance just may not be my jam when the MCs are so *very, very* young.

That said, the voice acting performances by Amy Hall and Ash Beverly were the reason I listened until the end. Hall is a favorite voice actor of mine. Her performance and range while voicing both the female and male characters in this book are very impressive.

I also very much enjoyed Ash Beverly's performance. So many of the male voice actors today have wonderfully deep, growly voices. While I enjoy performances like those in many of my romance listens, I definitely appreciated that Beverly's performance as a college-age character in Sin-Bin was spot on and believable.

I will definitely be looking for more books narrated by these two narrators, but this one was a miss for me.

Talented voice performances, just not my favorite college hockey romance.

There isn’t much to say except this book is perfection! The characters you fall in love with, the plot is chefs kiss, the banter and character growth is top tier, and not to mention it’s a hockey romance on top of it! Just so good! I highly recommend a listen!

I feel in love!

3.8 ⭐️ 3 🌶️

This book opens in pure chaos: Ava walks in on Colton and his bestie going to town on her roommate. ICONICALLY UNHINGED. And yet, I stayed.

Colton is a grade-A grump with the emotional range of a teaspoon. But somewhere between the insults and the eye-rolls, this man fell hard for Ava, and honestly? I was rooting for his broody, hockey-playing self the whole time. Ava is a feisty, spicy book lover that is as real as it gets. Her walls are high, but Colton crashes through like a Zamboni - feelings in tow.

Yes, it’s a cliché sports romance. Yes, I knew exactly where it was going. And yes, I devoured every second of it like it was enemies-to-lovers gourmet. My only compliant: The back-and-forth? Agonizingly long. JUST KISS. This book had me screaming at fictional characters to just admit they’re in love already!!

I listened to the audiobook on this story. Ash Beverly is quickly becoming a favorite male narrator of mine. He truly was fabulous for Colt. Amy Hall was great for the FMC. Ash is a 4 ⭐️ for me. The story, however, it’s a 2.5 ⭐️. There’s room for improvement.
Sin-Bin is the first book in the “Sinners on the Ice” series following Colton & Ava. Colton is the closed off playboy senior star of the hockey team. Ava is a freshman at the college. They both have traumatic past. They both hold their own demons.
This is seriously a high school drama book. I don’t care for this especially since it’s set in college. It was always back and forth between them. You could see the chemistry between them. They were basically already in a relationship but kept denying it. They only opened up whenever they were having sex. Colt started opening up to her and it was beautiful to watch. He really had a great character development. He wanted so much more with her but was afraid to scare her off. He learned how to perfectly handle her and he was a great MMC!
Truthfully, this could have been a shorter write & a little better written — it would have been a great read. The last chapters of the book - SMH…
