On June 30, 2015 Misty Copeland stepped on stage as the first female African-American principal dancer for the American Ballet Theater and made history! Using the book, "You Should Meet: Misty Copeland" by Laurie Calkhoven and Monique Dong (Illustrator), children can learn about how Misty Copeland became a star dancer, author, and activist despite facing many challenges in her youth. This video also includes a photo montage of some of Copeland's most beautiful performances.
