A swoony contemporary romance from Adam Sass following a boy who is cursed to doom any romantic relationship—and the summer that changes everything.

Grant Rossi is never getting a happily-ever-after.

Ever since he was a kid and made a wish on his family’s iconic Wishing Rose, his romantic relationships have been cursed to end. Following his most recent (and extremely public) dumping, Grant is languishing in a hot Chicago summer, abandoning his beloved design projects to sink back into depression. But when his family suggests spending the summer helping his aunt and uncle refurbish their beautiful but rundown B&B and vineyard—the home of the Wishing Rose that changed everything for him—Grant decides to accept. Maybe he can finally find a way to recover his creative spark...and break his curse.

But things at the vineyard are not what Grant expects. The place is in almost total disrepair, and—even worse—the person his relatives hired to help is his former childhood crush, Ben—the first boy who broke his heart.

As their chemistry sparks and the summer heats up, the wedge between them can’t be ignored. But while they race to restore the B&B in time for the beloved local rose festival, grumpy but lovable Ben starts to break through Grant’s carefully crafted defenses. Can Grant find a way to overcome his curse and open his heart, even when it’s broken?

A must read especially if you read The 99 boyfriends of Micha Summers. At the end of that book my strongest thought was what happened to poor Grant? I felt really bad for him. Well, good news this answers that and so much more. This book was the better of the two stories.

A must read

This story was such a treasure to find! Narration was especially terrific bringing all the characters to life. I immediately pulled for Grant from the beginning chapter and held onto the rollercoaster. At times, did I want to shake him and tell him to snap out of it? Well, sure. But it was all part of the emotional journey. This is the first novel I'm reading of this author, so I'm definitely reading more.

Couldn't stop listening

This is one of the most real and the least cynical look at the struggles of healing and growing up. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This book had so many ups and downs with conflicts as well as happy moments. It had me guessing the entire time I had no idea how people would react. I felt all the emotions and cried a few times. This book has so much good communication as well as advice from many characters. Definitely recommend and is my new favorite book.

So deep.

Grant is EXTREMELY easy to figure out why he keeps getting dumped, it’s not a curse it’s because he lets guys walk all over him treat him like crap and than come crawling back for more, he explains away all red flags and horrible behaviors and just keeps going back for more, yes please just treat me like dirt I love it!!!! I was hoping for a bit more backbone from the guy who was cheated on and maybe some actual remorse from Ben would be nice…but no Ben blames grant for ALL of it, and when it comes down to it....yes ben did it twice, first you dont do that if you love someone else, yeah let me just get with the i guy supposedly loves boyfriend or even ex boyfriend, and two ok were finally starting to get along and ben gos and starts to get with a guy right in front of grant....the story was just a little to much "ALL grants fault" and the ex breaking up with grant right at grants big design moment and grant just still deciding it was his fault not the ex. i ended up hating grant for being spineless and hating ben for treating him the way he did talk about manipulation
